I launched WealthVillage to provide Wealth Managers, including my older brother, a better way to find and connect with potential clients. It pained me to see my brother pay ‘marketing consultants’ and ‘experts’ tens of thousands of dollars for websites and campaigns that were outdated and ineffective. My brother also tried purchasing prepackaged, ‘compliance ready’ content from vendors, only to discover that you can’t rank highly on Google if you’re using essentially the same content as your competitors.
Having spent nearly 20 years in media, advertising, and online learning, I knew there was a better way to reach people. After many months of research, here’s what I discovered: People experiencing major life transitions (retiring, selling a business, becoming a parent) are hungry for advice and want to speak to experts. But, they don’t want to be ‘sold-to’ on their first interaction. By providing retirees with a forum to ask excerpts questions pertaining to wealth management and retirement planning, we provide a low-pressure environment for getting to know wealth managers.
The great thing about answering questions on the WealthVillage is that your answers can be discovered by others who are Googling that same question. Even if you don’t connect with the person whose question you answered, your answers will draw others to you. That’s paying it forward. We’re excited to foster connections and relationships between retirees and wealth managers and to engage them in our mission: Share Knowledge, Grow Wealth, Together, on WealthVillage.
Hope to see you in the village.
